West Chester University of Pennsylvania Facilities Division invites applicants for the position of Temporary Custodial Worker. This is a twelve-week temporary position ending in mid-May. The available hours are Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 2 PM, 4 PM to 12 AM, and 10:30 PM to 6:30 AMwith up to 37.50 hours per week.

No previous experience or training required.

• Ability to learn the operation and care of vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines polishing machines, and other janitorial equipment
• Ability to follow instructions and to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials 
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform duties while bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching and climbing
• Sufficient physical strength to work at custodial tasks including ability to work from an eight-foot stepladder

As a member of the Facilities Divisional staff, this position is deemed essential. Essential employees must remain or report to work during partial or full day closings of the University due to hazardous road conditions, emergency circumstances or for other reasons.
