Medical Office Manager

We are seeking an energetic Medical Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our medical office. Requires greater than 5 years recent experience with strong leadership skills, and management of administrative and financial aspects of the office.

Job duties includes but not limited to:

  • Responsible for supervising the daily operations, activities and staff
  • Knowledge of credentialing providers with insurance companies.
  • May be required to perform the duties of other employees in their absence. Per different departments.
  • Performs the role of front desk associate, insurance specialist or billing when staffing needs require.
  • Oversees all financial operations, including billing and coding
  • Knowledge of billing & coding IDC-10 and collections
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and front office activities
  • Help with enforcing company policies
  • Implement and practice confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Create internal financial reports.
  • Oversee, and perform daily checks and reconciliation of daily charges, and collections. Record any discrepancies.
  • Develop workflows and improve processes for different departments to ensure best quality and performance.
  • Perform Evaluations of employees, including evaluations, disciplinary action and terminations
  • Maintains schedule for staffing to ensure adequate coverage is available.
  • Monitor employee’s time clock, overtime etc.
  • Payroll calculations: Verifies and approves timesheets for employees.
  • Creating weekly schedules for employees with proper coverage for every department.
  • Conducts pre-employment screenings and interviews when there are position vacancies on team.
  • Hire employees, assist in training, and organize training for employees per department. Testing and evaluating the knowledge of the employees per department for best performance and/or collection.
  • Collecting time off requests.
  • Work on and send medical records
  • Assist with preparation for office staff meetings including but not limited performing reports, power point presentation preparation
  • Having some bookkeeping experience is a plus and knowledge of how to pay bills
  • Answers patient questions and responds or resolves patient concerns or frustrations.
  • Must have a business mindset – Knowledge of business principles involved in planning, resource allocation, human resource concepts, operations, policies, and procedures. Building a strong team, reducing employee turnover.
  • Marketing experience. Familiar with Social media. Participating in different events, approving contracts with other companies and revising insurance contracts.
  • Strong communication skills with owners, employees, and patients.
  • Strong personality to lead, multitasker and positive adviser
  • Strong ability in marketing and PR of our services
  • Ability to deal with patients in a Professional & Empathy manner. Strong ability of interactions with patients.
  • Quality control of the front desk, and other departments.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years or more of experience as a medical office manager
  • Proven ability to manage a medical office efficiently
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare management, business, or a related degree is required.
  • A master’s degree in healthcare management, business, or a related degree is preferred.
  • A Certified Medical Manager (CMM) designation from the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management (PAHOM) is preferred.
  • Knowledge or background experience in medical billing & coding IDC-10 and collections
  • Knowledge or background in Medical Assistant
  • Knowledge or background experience of insurance verification and front office activities
  • Skills in Human Resources
  • Work well under stress and pressure
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, ability to multi-task and perform well in stressful situations
  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience with EMR.
  • Criminal Record will be checked before offering a job or during the probation period.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Strong management skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
