Job Summary:

Provide prompt and efficient care to residents meeting their physical, mental, emotional, and social needs in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan. CNA’s at Grace Health Center are responsible to assist residents with all activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, transferring, ambulating, positioning, exercises, and communication. All care must be provided with compassion and kindness while preserving the resident’s dignity and a sense independence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Providing personal hygiene care to resident which may include: bathing, oral care, grooming nails and hair, toileting, incontinence care which may include catheter, colostomy/ileostomy bags care, dressing, making / changing bed linens and other general care as is necessary or requested.
  2. Performs treatment procedures including applying creams and powders, changing oxygen and handheld nebulizer tubing, apply/remove ted hose, assist with dentures, glasses, and hearing aids.
  3. Takes and/or records temperature, pulse, respirations, height, weight, intake, and output as O2 saturation with pulse oximeter.
  4. Asist residents with various aspects of dining.
  5. Promptly answers resident call bells, anticipates resident’s needs, and makes rounds.
  6. Assists residents with choosing and caring for clothes.
  7. Walk with/transport resident to/from various areas of facility.
  8. Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  9. Provide cueing and redirection to residents and effectively assists confused or agitated residents.
  10. Report to licensed nurse/med tech and document in report book any abnormal findings of resident.
  11. Provides for resident privacy at all times and establishes and maintain personal relationships with residents.
  12. Monitor supplies and refill/reorder as needed. Clean and Stock carts for next shift.

Qualifications Necessary:

 ·Completion of Certified Nurse Aide training.

·Previous experience helpful but not required.

·Good customer service skills, ability to work well with others, problem solving.

·Patience, kindness, and compassion are a must.

· \Perform the physical requirements of the position including lifting residents, bending, twisting, turning, reaching, stooping, pushing, and kneeling and standing.

·Protect resident confidentiality by not sharing information.

·Adhere to all Wesbury personnel policies as they apply to the workplace.
