We are looking for a part time nurse for a 40 bed unit.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of nursing responsibilities during each shift, from processing patients in and out to delegating nursing rounds and drug administration. We’re looking for a highly competent and well-organized professional who values safety, security and patient wellness above all else. We focus on providing the best care possible while ensuring patient satisfaction in every interaction. The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for making sure those values are reflected in his or her staff at all times.
Principal Responsibilities: Responsible for the charting, treatments, medical follow through and C.N.A. supervision for those residents. Manage the nursing care for all patients in the cardiology unit during your shift Delegate the shift’s tasks to all of the nurses in the unit and coordinate with physicians who might need assistance Recognize changes in patients’ condition and respond appropriately Supervise Nursing Aides as they complete their assigned tasks and point out any changes or improvements that need to be made Detect any issues that could result in injuries or other difficulties for patients or staff members Inform physicians of any changes in patients’ progress, condition or medicinal needs
Charge Nurse Knowledge and Skills: - Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential in order to give direction to and support other nurses. - Patience and a pleasing manner are important as a charge nurse is often called upon to answer the queries of patients or their anxious families. - Organizational skills are required to plan schedules and manage an inventory.
Charge Nurse Educational Qualifications and Experience: - A Bachelor of Science, Nursing or Master of Science, Nursing degree is preferred. Other qualifications considered include Associate Degree in Nursing, Associate of Applied Science or a Nursing Diploma. - A valid state license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) - Qualifications specific to the particular job are always beneficial, such as specializations in emergency room, intensive, geriatric or pediatric care. - A minimum of 3 to 5 years is generally required, though most in this position generally possess in excess of 10 years experience.
