DescriptionHello! Thank you for your interest in joining the Wellspring team as a Social Work- Parent Education Provider with the Foster Care Supportive Visitation Program (FCSV). As a statewide nonprofit serving families and children in need of support, we take a whole-person approach to our organization and delivery of our services — because we believe we must find the strengths in people and build on these for lasting change to occur.
As a Parent Education Provider with the Wellspring within the FCVS program , you will be part of a team committed to helping families throughout Jackson, Hillsdale, and Branch Counties. You will have a bachelor's degree in social work, education or a related human services related field, prior to serving families, complete a training program, provided by a certified Nurturing Parent trainer, that teaches the philosophy of Nurturing Parenting and how to implement and facilitate the program. Additionally, a minimum of one year experience working in human services is preferred. A current driver's license, car registration and auto insurance, is required. You will also be reliable, and have a responsible attitude, a compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do.
As a Parent Education Provider, you will:

• Maintain face to face contact with families according to the contract defined frequency and the individual needs of the family.
• Provide skills training using the curriculum, including but not limited to: physical and emotional aspects of child development; communication; setting limits and child management; alternatives to corporal punishment; active listening; conflict resolution; family rules; helping children with feelings; etc.
• Refer families/make collateral contact to community services.
• Prepare written reports to DHHS as required within the expected time frames.
• Safety plan with families to reduce risk
• Observe and respond to early signs of abuse and neglect
• Assure stable transportation plan, including transport in your own vehicle as necessary.

• You'll be part of a dedicated and caring team of social workers, administrative professionals and support staff
• You'll receive supervision weekly or as needed.
• You'll have support from our support staff with administrative duties such as filing and requesting documentation.
• You'll have access to professional development opportunities.
• Your starting salary range will be $36,000 - $39,000 based off experience, education, etc.
  • You'll receive mileage reimbursement
• Hybrid Remote: You'll be working home-based with a flexible work schedule and traveling into the communities to see clients in-home throughout Jackson, Hillsdale, and Branch Counties.
