Responsibilities
Performs a variety of clerical office duties related to telephone management, receiving patients, insurance/billing, record management, and scheduling
Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers
Greets and registers patients in accordance with established policies and procedures
Schedules patient appointments within established parameters
Schedules patient appointments for patients with other provider offices including correct processing of necessary referral forms, pre-authorization forms, test instructions, patient benefit verification and transfer of patient information
Performs various duties for effective check-in and check-out of patients
Processes patient charges
Collects copays, deductibles and account balances
Performs various tasks related to end of day batch control, cash drawer etc
.Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer software applications
Processes requests for patient information according to policies and procedures
Researches billing questions and problems for patients with billing service
Types various letters, memos, and reports, as needed
Ensures patient confidentiality
Manages the insurance referral process according to policy
Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, and safety standards
Provides outstanding service to all patients, providers, coworkers and customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation
