About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Specialty Software Engineering Manager. New York City based responsible for managing Algorithmic Trading Technology of Wells Fargo Securities’ Equities LOB.

In this role, you will:

• Significant expertise in low latency and high-performance engineering using C , Java, Python & Unix building low latency trading platforms and providing technical and thought leadership across all aspects of the SDLC
• Experience in building automated trading applications across spectrum of electronic trading specific to Equities Cash with deep understanding of its market structure
• Comfortable leading a team of senior developers and managing multiple large scale projects
• Responsible for working with front office sales and trading staff, COO’s, product team, platform support, compliance, and operational risk across Equities LOB
• Passionate and recognized expert in the agile development process and DevOps practices including build, test, and release automation. Able to clearly articulate the benefits of scaled agile and automation to improve engineering quality and velocity
• Experience in managing large complex multi layers build outs from the ground up including data center, network, and software architecture
• Provide day-to-day management support of Equities ALGO technology team located in New York region and able to coach as well as provide general guidance
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management. Strategic collaborator at a higher level with other Equities Technology Team within the organization. Able to problem solve complex issues at a macro and detail level.
• Experience of operating in a highly regulated environment. Able to identify and articulate risks & concerns.

  • FIX, other binary protocols, data pipelines
  • Order/Execution Management, SOR, algo’s, EMS
  • Equities Exchange/Dark Venue Connectivity
  • Market Data, Tick data & machine learning models
  • Scaled Agile & CICD/Dev Ops
  • Highly distributed, multi-threaded & multi-core architectures, low latency engineering
  • Core computer science concepts i.e. OO design & patterns, algorithms, data structures
  • High availability, multi-site/multi-region hot/hot
  • 15c3b market access risk controls
  • Regulations and compliance related to eTrading specially to FINRA CAT reporting

Required Qualifications:

• 4 years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 4 years of electronic trading experience in Equities Cash LOB
• 4 years of software development in either java or C
• 4 years of algorithmic trading development experience
• 4 years of low latency systems development or implementation experience
• 4 years of multi-threading Experience
• 4 years of securities industry experience
• 4 years of application development and implementation experience
• 2 years of Leadership experience

Desired Qualifications: 

• Knowledge and understanding of Equities trading in pricing construction and risk management
• Advanced experience in capital markets business and processes
• Basic knowledge and understanding of statistic and mathematical modeling
• Basic knowledge and understanding of SEC, FINRA and international regulations
• Strong knowledge of core computer science design concepts, algorithms, and data structures
• Experience working on low latency high-throughput transactional systems
