About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Control Management Specialist within Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) aligned to the Small Business line of business. This business aligned specialist will partner with other business control specialist and officers to support key control functions, specifically Issue Management, Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), and Control Management.

This role is responsible for partnering with their relevant business group to develop and maintain a strong control environment leading to the early identification and sustainable mitigation of operational risk. Responsible for Risk Identification & Assessment, Control Design & Evaluation, Issues & Control Deficiencies, Control Governance & Reporting, and Control Programs. In this role, you will:

  • Support control officers with the execution of RCSA, including capturing notes and providing status reporting, tracking and following up of outstanding actions and deliverables, documentation of identified risks and controls (inclusive of SNOW data entry)
  • Support the maintenance of the control inventory, including the processing of Change Requests (CRs), Control Sharing Agreements, and resolving data hygiene requests.
  • Be responsible for the design and uplift of controls, including consulting with the business to draft control procedures.
  • Support business operators in the management of issues, including Corrective Action (CA) design and sustainability testing, monitoring of progress throughout the Issue Management Lifecycle, and ensuring System of Record (SOR) remains up to date.
  • Provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes, and business controls.

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 4 years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Wells Fargo Risk Framework as well as risk and control programs including Issue Management, Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Enterprise Risk Identification & Assessment
  • Experience with Small Business Banking Operations, including regulatory requirements, products, services and key risks.
  • Underwriting, Originations and/or Lending operations experience
  • Experience with the relevant systems of record: Veritas, SHRP and SNOW
  • Experience with process and control design
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with data, analysis and metrics reporting
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and on multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and staff.
  • Exposure to Wells Fargo RCSA (Risk and Control Self-Assessment) tool
  • Experience working productively in an environment where work processes frequently change.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Shared Risk Platform (SHRP) such as reporting and issue management.
  • Advanced knowledge of issue management policy
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of building control systems.

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
