About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Product Integrity Specialist. Day to day activities will be widely varied, but central to ensuring data governance compliance for Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) is achieved through the planning and execution of data management deliverables in an agile framework. This role will be expected to become a subject matter expert in the data governance risk policy and the processes/procedures used to ensure that WIM data is managed as a strategic asset throughout the life cycle (produce, distribute and use of data). Provides subject matter expertise to the WIM product teams and oversight in the creation of metadata, business process, application and element level controls, and data flow documentation. Additionally, the Lead Data Product Integrity Specialist is expected to be a key contributor to improvements of existing and/or new processes that aide in compliance assessments and tracking.
In this role, you will:
  • Act as a data steward; lead complex data integrity and quality initiatives and reviews of business systems with broad impact, and act as a key participant in large-scale planning related to data quality improvement and business systems
  • Review and analyze complex, multi-faceted data quality audits; research and resolve data quality issues which require an in-depth evaluation of multiple systems, data sets, and data connections
  • Make decisions in complex situations requiring solid understanding of data quality standards and control framework; influence and lead review and remediation of data quality issues to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with the business, risk partners, and technical staff, including Enterprise Data Management and Technology functions, to lead, triage, and resolve data quality issues; serve as a mentor for peers
  • Ensure compliance with Enterprise Data Management policies, standards, and technology, and facilitate execution of business data standards and control frameworks
  • Understand the complete data lifecycle from data creation and capture to data processing, storage, and usage
  • Serve as an expert on end-to-end data lineage using traditional methods and systemic tools with peers
  • Create data quality improvement plans and set approach to monitor data quality to maximize efficiency and minimize risk
  • Define strategies and identify critical data elements and data quality rules to effectively govern data within the business
  • Consult with and provide recommendations to senior management regarding assessments of the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility
Required Qualifications:
  • 5 years of data quality or data management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and understanding of data governance challenges and approaches: metadata, data quality, and data stewardship
  • Knowledge and understanding of data governance program development and implementation in a large organization across multiple business functions
  • Metadata management and data integrity skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Data Models, ERD, Dimensional Models and Metadata
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Experience with data governance compliance programs and controls
  • Highly refined and professional verbal and written communications
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Prior financial industry experience supporting Wealth and Investment Management businesses including knowledge of data pertaining to brokerage/trust products
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
  • Experience with leveraging data for analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial industry compliance requirements
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to coordinate, execute, and communicate on large-scale projects and cyclical routines
  • Experience in identifying gaps in training materials and participating in creation or deploying materials
  • Relationship management experience with business and technology partners
