About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Analytics Consultant to help develop, implement, and support the oversight of the effective and consistent execution of certain core elements of the Compliance Program Policy across the Enterprise Compliance Operations (“ECO”) teams. The Enterprise Compliance Operations team is comprised of nine underlying teams which are highly operational in nature and are responsible for overseeing and implementing enterprise-wide compliance policies and procedures. Those teams include the Global Control Group, Personal Account Dealing, Equity Aggregation, Securities Registration, Insurance Licensing, Lobbyist Management, Ethics Pre-clearance, Global Preclearance and Risks/Controls Teams. These compliance operations teams cover all the firms’ lines of business and corporate functions globally as they relate to the underlying team responsibilities. The Lead Analytics Consultant will support the ECO teams with automated reporting solutions and as an advisor in developing risk mitigation strategies, including but not limited to self-assurance activities, risk indicators and issue management.
In this role, you will:
Maintain and further develop the department owned SQL server for reporting purposes to support the department’s metric automation and expansion program and execution of manual non-standard reports, including the maintenance of corresponding technical and business documentation
Provide monthly reporting to various clients across the firm and ad-hoc requests for businesses, independent testing, audit and regulator exams
Lead the reporting tool transition towards self-service reporting through Tableau for users outside of ECO, including but not limited to requirements definition, advise and consult with Technology on the views, work with Tableau teams on design and end-to-end reporting testing
Advise ECO senior management strategies based on research of performance metrics, trends in population distributions, and other complex data analysis to minimize operational and compliance risk
Provide influence and leadership in the identification of new tools and methods to analyze data
Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor to staff, interns and external contractors
Required Qualifications, US:
5 years of Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Strong Microsoft SQL Server skills with emphasis on the ability to work in SQL Server Management Studio or other client tool, write queries that are efficient and produce accurate results, and general troubleshooting skills in support of background SQL jobs
Foundational knowledge of Oracle, including the ability to use Toad, Oracle SQL Developer or other client tool
Foundational SAS (Statistical Analysis System) skills to develop and maintain SAS programs and macros for report generation, including extracting, transforming and loading data from various sources (Oracle/ODBC) into SAS datasets
Basic Linux experience is beneficial, including basic Linux commands, using vi editor to read/update files or using crontab
General understanding of reporting tools such as Microstrategy, Tableau and Power BI, enough to work with development teams to create and maintain reports
Understanding of Agile development approach and the use of JIRA
Prior experience building or maintaining key relationships across departments and functions, and establishing a culture of engagement
Prior experience with developing and maintaining metrics for risk measurement, including governance, execution and quality control and quality assurance
Ability to work in a highly complex organization and influence the outcomes of decisions to ensure the most appropriate risk posture in a rapidly changing environment
Professional maturity and confidence in expressing a point of view with senior management
Anticipates emerging issues and develops strategies to meet business needs
Experience creating reports and presentations for multiple levels of audiences
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams)
