The purpose of the Recruitment & Retention Specialist is to work closely with Chief People Officer and the Staffing & People Relations Manager to develop strategies to recruit and retain employees that support our goal of being the best place to work. The incumbent will be responsible for the recruitment, onboarding, training, engagement, and retention of our workforce.

The incumbent in this position supports the activities and responsibilities of the Human Resources Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruiting

  • Designs and implements the overall recruiting strategy by using databases, such as social media, to filter candidates for open positions.
  • Actively attracts and sources candidates through networking, social media, company website, job boards, and recruiting events including open houses and regional job fairs.
  • Oversees and follows through on all steps of the hiring process including phone screens, coordinating interviews with the hiring team, reference and background checks, and presenting verbal and written offers.
  • Maintains excellent communication throughout the recruitment cycle with the internal hiring team as well as with candidates in all stages of the hiring process.
  • Onboarding new employees by coordinating and conducting orientation and the company culture training.
  • Partners with supervisors throughout the training program by coordinating regular check-ins and assisting where needed.
  • Acts as a point of contact to build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.

Retention

  • Actively engages with employees and being visible for support.
  • Partners with the Chief People Officer and the Staffing & People Relations Manager to create and implement company specific staffing and retention strategies.
  • improvement opportunities through working closely with department’s management.
  • Administers exit interviews, employee surveys, stay interviews and feedback boards, in partnership with the leadership team, analyze the information to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Provides guidance and expertise to managers on their roles regarding employee engagement and retention; assists with the development and implementation of employee engagement activities.
  • Frequently file reports including information about interactions, solutions, and outcomes to help with organizational improvement.
  • Help others achieve their career goals and promoting our company as the "best place to work".

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Education and Experience:

  • Must have at least 2 years of recruitment experience
  • Hands-on experience with a company retention improvement program
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, prioritizing and time management.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete on a timely basis.

Position has recurring work situations that involve having a high attention to detail and service results. It is important that Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. Safety protocols be followed as a guide for operational direction. Failing to follow prescribed guidelines will waste resources and adversely impact performance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
