Welcoming America is looking for a Communications Intern to help with it's support for the communities being served. We are looking for an intern to support us with our mission. Specifically in the following areas:

Digital engagement (40%)

•Assist with content creation and support for digital campaigns

•Draft social media posts and accompanying graphics

•Monitor general inquiry inbox for news alerts, requests, etc.

•Upload photos and videos to media libraries

•Assist with compiling analytics data on our digital activity

•Conduct research and produce reports summarizing findings and recommendations

•Add news items, blog posts, resources, and content updates to Wordpress websites

Writing and editing (40%)

•Propose, write, and edit blogs and emails

•Assist with gathering stories, data, and research for publications and other content

Professional development/administrative tasks (20%)

•Participate regularly in team check-ins and full staff meetings

•Spend time getting to know and building relationships with staff members in other functions

•Build deeper understanding of immigration and community building through individual and team professional development opportunities

•Occasionally pitch in with administrative tasks as directed by supervisor(s)

What success looks like:

•Intern feels they have learned something substantial for their career prospects

•Proactive participation in projects and effective time management

•Taking initiative and ownership of ideas and projects

•Boosting communications capacity of organization

•Effective communication and working relationships with all other functions of the organization
