The Levitz Lab is seeking to hire a research technician to assist in our ongoing studies of synaptic membrane proteins using proteomics and cell biology techniques applied in neurons. We are looking for highly motivated and intellectually curious individuals who have an interest in neuroscience and biomedical fields. Ideally, candidates have prior research experience and/or coursework in protein biochemistry, cell biology, cell culture, or related subjects; however, this is not required. After hiring, the individuals will receive training in specific experimental techniques relevant to the project. Thus, we are seeking individuals who are self-motivated, maintain a high level of time management, and work well in a group to support the lab as a team. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain research experience using a broad array of techniques bridging the biophysics and neuroscience fields, within a productive and supportive lab environment. Individuals in this position will work directly under the guidance of post-doctoral fellows and PhD candidates and have the opportunity to interact broadly with the diverse scientific community at Weill Cornell.
Under supervision, assists scientists with laboratory and investigative procedures This role performs various assays, imaging experiments, and other technical duties to assist with the research activities of the laboratory and may be required to work with animal models and/or human subjects

This position may handle radioactive material and/or biologic materials from human subjects as required.
This position may require standing or sitting for long periods of time.
This role may require working within Biologic Safety Level 1, 2 and/or 3 facilities
