WeCare TLC is Hiring an Occupational Health and Wellness RN Near Valdosta, GA

WeCare tlc is a leading provider of on-site/near-site healthcare centers that are designed to help employers and plan sponsors keep rising healthcare costs in check. WeCare tlc, has the opportunity for a skilled Occupational Health and Wellness RN to join our team at our client’s campus in Valdosta, GA. This role will be onsite for approximately 40 hours each week.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Work collaboratively with the Lead RN and the client’s Wellness Committee to provide health and wellness programming/strategies with an integrative approach involving both the Clinic and the employee Wellness Program. Actively coach patients/employees to stay healthy and improve ongoing health issues and/or overall well-being. Maintain accurate and timely records for reporting of patient/employee progress, frequency, aggregate biometrics and incentives earned. Promote details and benefits of wellness programs along with healthy living as a workplace culture.

Responsible for managing the pre-employment screening and immunizations for new hires, the advance team, and the contracted client sites. Collaborates with the HR Representative to ensure timely clearance for new hires
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
The role encompasses nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for employees, potential employees, and contract clients, as well as the development & execution of occupational health policies, procedures, and programs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Pre-employment Requirements:

  • Perform pre-placement health screenings which include occupational and personal medical history, urine drug screening, vision testing and immunization evaluation.
  • Assesses current state of employee's clearance based upon prior medical history as compared to site requirements.
  • Orders appropriate lab screenings per clinic protocols and performs phlebotomy.
  • Interprets and evaluates candidate's medical clearance through the evaluation of diagnostic screening results.
  • Submits required medical clearances to appropriate personnel at client sites.
  • Follows up with new hire or lab if issues arise such as missed appointments or incorrect screenings completed.
  • Collaborates with HR Coordinator to insure timely clearance for new hires.
  • Maintains all medical records in the event of audits and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Administration

  • Developing, standardizing and managing relevant OH operating procedures, policies and programs, ensuring alignment throughout the organization.
  • Maintain inventory including ordering stocking and disposing of expired products.
  • Maintain certifications, calibrations, and maintenance on all medical equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with CDC, WHO and State Department of Public Health.
  • Maintains electronic databases tracking/trending injuries following legal and regulatory compliance with state/federal regulations OSHA, FMLA, and HIPAA.
  • Reporting of program activities as requested.

Occupational & Environmental Medicine

  • Coordinates and designs programs that support proper ergonomic design, positive lifestyle changes and individual efforts to lower risk of disease and injury.
  • Assists with administration of vaccination and screening programs such as influenza and TB.
  • Applies understanding of OSHA regulations, the State's workers compensation and FMLA guidelines and their impact on the workplace.
  • When required, observes, and assesses both the worker and the work environment; conducts appraisal of the work environment for potential exposures and identifies current or potential abnormalities. Documents observations, assessments, and inferences to management.


Wellness Program Coordination

  • Work closely with client HR department to develop and execute corporate wellness initiatives.
  • Oversee annual health risk assessment campaigns
  • Co-promote client nutrition and wellness initiatives, special events and promotions
  • Use motivational interviewing to help employees set appropriate health goals and develop action steps toward achieving goals.
  • Administer biometric screenings (blood pressure, body comp, body fat, circumference measurements etc.)
  • Assist with/promote quarterly incentive program initiatives and events
  • Management and documentation of all employee wellness consultations, biometrics, and submissions of earned wellness points through every initiative in the current Wellness Program Guidelines for all current patients/employees on a quarterly basis.
  • Maintain close communication with Lead RN related to program components and current initiatives.
  • Maintain high level of engagement and presence within the workplace.
  • Maintain current population participation goal of 60% or greater.
  • Complete and average of 2.5 wellness coaching consultations per hour of service regarding:
  • Nutrition/ Exercise
  • Stress/ Mental Health
  • Heart Disease/ Diabetes
  • Musculoskeletal Disorders

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA
  • Ability to maintain composure during very difficult situations
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule
  • Previous experience with health coaching/counseling


EDUCATION

  • Associate Degree in nursing, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Clinical license as a Registered Nurse


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS PREFERRED

  • Certified Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHN)
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S)
  • NIOSH spirometry certification (preferred).
  • Certified Health and Wellness Coach or Nurse Coach


Full- time:
40 hours per week.
