Responsibilities

This individual is responsible for serving as a change agent for the development and implementation of major process improvement ideas throughout the entire Software organization. Will be documenting our current processes, recommending improvements, and evaluating the efficiency of changes made to our software engineering processes. Responsibilities will be focused on gathering and analyzing data to evaluate current business practices and providing solutions to reduce costs and improve productivity. Will oversee essential business systems and processes and finds ways to make them more efficient. Will provide an objective assessment of business operation and recommend and implement actionable tips to refine all aspects of the business. Should have ability to make a business process easier, faster, better quality and more affordable. This individual will also be responsible for explaining and defending any proposed changes to the current system. The individual will also demonstrate excellent analytical skills, high accuracy, attention to detail, and will contribute to a positive team atmosphere. Will be responsible for Product Quality strategy and standardization of procedures to ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction. Will also overlook vendor management for the D&WC to drive on time delivery, efficiency, and compliance. Will be the owner and driver of key quality metric for functional and application areas, will collaborate with other teams to drive qualification efforts, process results, draw meaningful conclusions and present impactful data to leaders and cross functional teams at a regular cadence.

  • Evaluates, analyzes and optimizes existing RDE Software processes.
  • Determines and outlines business process improvements. Coordinates business process improvement strategies with relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyzes and monitors implemented changes to processes and adjusts as needed.
  • Constantly revises and updates procedures and policies to drive productivity, quality, cost optimization, and time management.
  • Presents progress reports and integrates feedback.
  • Responsible for QA/QC strategies that increase the profitability, efficiency, and overall production of the software organization.
  • Provides necessary definition, development, and deployment of the software products quality assurance strategy, addressing all phases of product development. Maintains software product consistency throughout product cycle, to include the design, define and build phases through quality checkpoints and testing.
  • Identifies and prioritizes areas for improvement in the software development process to enhance overall product quality, including recommendations for process improvements related to testing and quality assurance.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product managers, and project managers, to define and manage quality standards and requirements.
  • Implements ongoing quality improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams.
  • Stays up to date with industry trends and advancements in software quality assurance tools and techniques, and proactively integrates new methodologies and technologies into the software development process, as appropriate.
  • Performs internal audits periodically to ensure adherence to established processes.
  • Participates in efforts to standardize the QA tool set, including defect tracking, test case management, and resource tracking.
  • Promotes the adoption and dissemination of best practices and improvement initiatives, working closely with other Software management teams.
  • As required, works with Engineering Managers to develop project schedules and resource allocation models for QA related projects.
  • Supports the vendor management process in the software category.
  • Leads vendor activities and process improvement across a wide spectrum of providers.
  • Effectively manages relationships with 3rd party suppliers and partners to ensure services are delivered according to team expectations.
  • Leverages commercial and operational techniques to execute optimal vendor actions.
  • Analyzes vendor proposals to help create optimal deals for the team to pursue with software providers.
  • Participates in negotiations with 3rd party suppliers to achieve ideal scope and commercials for all transactions.
  • Participates in the definition of training strategies, competency programs and career paths for software professionals.
  • Provides effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives, and performance to plan.
  • Anticipates program release problems and takes corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve commitments.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 yrs experience in software engineering/development
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional recordkeeping, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. SAP experience is a plus.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to influence without authority vertically and horizontally throughout the organization and with cross-functional teams
  • Team Work skills - able to collaborate effectively as part of a team
  • Time Management - Able to manage work time in such a manner that ensures the accomplishment of specific objectives; sets priorities, goals, and timetables to achieve maximum productivity all while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Planning/Organizational skills - use time efficiently and work through large projects without supervision, small projects should be accomplished in a self-motivated manner
  • Adaptability - able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Familiarity with multiple technical stacks
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrums teams
  • 5 or more years of software engineering leadership
