We have an exciting opportunity for a Safety Intern to join us over the summer! In this full time, paid internship, the Safety Intern will assist in the development of a zero-incident safety culture through hazard assessments, engagement, risk identification, and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with production and maintenance team to ensure policies and procedures are being followed. Train, audit, instruct, and correct where necessary.
• Conduct hazard assessments and engage production experts
• Manage risk abatement process to lower identified risks
• Develop methods to predict hazards.
• Uncover patterns in injury data.

Requirements

• Student of Junior or Senior standing, working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field.
• Ability to thrive and be part of a fast paced environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point) required.
• Ability to effectively interact with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and time management experience.
• Ability to handle confidential materials with discretion and accuracy.
• Willing to be located onsite at Weasler Engineering in West Bend, WI.
