1. Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in one of the following: Clinical Laboratory Science (formerly Medical Technologist), Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry/Biochemistry (other advanced science degrees may also be acceptable)
2. ASCP certification required. Certification in Medical Laboratory Science or Microbiology preferred, but not required if demonstrated experience in clinical microbiology.
3. Minimum of two years applicable experience, or an advanced degree
4. Demonstrated experience and strengths in clinical microbiology including: bacteriology, TB/Fungi, and routine aerobic/anaerobic ID.
5. Experience in training peers in technical clinical microbiology workflow associated with bacteriology, TB/Fungi, and routine aerobic/anaerobic ID, microscopy, etc.
6. Technical experience using and troubleshooting clinical microbiology instrumentation such as Maldi, Verigene, Vitek, etc.
7. Experience in delegating technical and QC tasks to comply with accreditation (CAP) requirements.
