POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the School-Age Kids Site Director, the School Age Kids Education Coordinator will work with the Director to manage the logistics of the School Age Kids Program.
TIME COMMITMENT
40 hours per week; times vary. Programming runs 6:30am – 6pm, Monday through Friday.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Complies with all Waypoint policies and procedures as outlined in the Waypoint Employee Handbook
§ Follows Waypoint’s confidentiality policy, including information regarding children, parents and staff
§ Is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the total work environment
§ Performs all other duties as assigned
§ Is able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
§ Possess excellent organizational and oral and written communication skills
§ Be confident in their abilities
§ Have a team-oriented leadership style in order to effectively work with and supervisor teachers in the program
§ An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or Elementary Education with at least 5 years of work experience in a childcare setting is required. Closely related degrees may be considered if childcare experience includes at least 1 year of supervision/management.
§ Must meet the DHS requirements to become an on-site supervisor
§ Must possess an understanding of the dynamics of homelessness, child abuse, domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental illness and how these factors effect poverty and oppression
§ Must demonstrate a sensitivity to working with families of diverse racial and cultural backgrounds
If required to drive a Waypoint vehicle, must have valid driver’s license and be insurable to meet the requirements of Waypoint insurance provider.
