Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Emergency Department (ED) Nurse that is on-site at UNC Health Wayne, located in Goldsboro, NC. The ED Nurse will provide care to patients in the Emergency Department. They will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care throughout pregnancy, including labor and delivery, as well as postpartum care.

This position qualifies for up to a $20,000 Commitment Incentive and up to $10,000 in relocation assistance.

Emergency Department Overview

Team nursing : RN/Paramedic 5:2 ratio

Shifts: 7a,9a,11a,3p,7p (willing to do 8hr,10hr,12hr)

Weekend: every other

Holiday: every other

On Call: 1 2 hours in 6-week schedule (can split hours)

• Phlebotomists
• NAs
• LPNs
• Paramedics
• RNs
• Monitor techs
• EKG tech
• APPs
• MDs
• 24/7 supervisor on site
• 24/7 leadership coverage
• Educator
• Stroke/STEMI coordinator
• Pharmacy tech on days Mon-Fri

Additional Information

• 4 bed BH unit – new build starting Jan 2024 for additional 12 beds, BH trained nurses and techs
• 4 trauma beds
• 11 bed new vertical flow unit
• New EMS convalescent transport to facilitate inpatient discharge as well as ED movement Mon-Fri days
• Current average census 196/day
• ED is known to not hold extensive time frames as good through put with inpatient
• ED is team oriented with frontline staff input recognized and accepted to improve overall care.

Qualifications

• Critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• ACLS certification would be beneficial
• Associate's degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Valid nursing license in North Carolina or multistate
