Job Details Job Location: Tomlinson-Inkster - Inkster, MI Salary Range: Undisclosed Description Scope: The Site Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the planning, organization, and implementation of activities of the Summer Discovery Program aimed at enhancing ELA, Math, STEM, and other enrichment skills of program participants.
Essential Functions
Collaborate with the Summer Discover Teacher to develop a comprehensive schedule of activities, workshops, lessons and events supporting Math, ELA, STEM and other enrichment areas.
Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages active participation and promotes positive relationships among participants.
Ensure daily health and safety of children, families and staff, per agency, federal, state and local policies. Ensure no child is left unsupervised at any time.
Work closely with community partners and stakeholders to promote program participation and facilitate collaborative initiatives.
Monitor program activities and collect data to evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement as needed. Prepare reports for funders and stakeholders as needed.
Assist with program recruitment, registration, and monitoring of enrollment and attendance.
Review classroom activities and materials to ensure diversity and activities fostering positive self-image.
Ensure that the site is welcoming to parents/caregivers and encourage their engagement in the child's education as well as site activities.
Workwith and demonstrate a commitment, caring, and respect for children and adults regardless of race, gender, age, disability, and cultural or ethnic background
Maintain a positive attitude towards assigned work, clients, and staff, and a willingness to work with others.
Further professional development by attending national, state, and local meetings of relevance to program goals
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Schools/Professional:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk, sit, see, talk and hear, and use hands to manipulate. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb steps, stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift (up to 50 pounds). Employeesmust occasionally move equipment and/or supplies. The job is performed for the most part in a school setting with occasional outside weather conditions. The noise level is that of a typical school setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work,Youth Development OR a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent.
Minimum oftwoyears of experience in a related field.
Minimum Competencies:
Proficient knowledge of internet applications and programs including Google technology and Microsoft Office Word and Excel. The ability to learn and utilize the necessary programs for this position.
Strong interpersonal and professional skills including but not limited to communication,professional appearance, tact, punctuality, and dependability.
Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, colleagues, and all agency staff.
Ability to provide services for those persons facing economic, social, health, age, and educational barriers.
Ability to work with childrenand families with disabilities.
Ability to establish positive and productive working
Ability to work independently or in a team environment (as deemed necessary).
Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner.
Licensing and Other Requirements:
Valid identification and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass State of Michigan Child Care Background Check
Travel Requirements:
Ability to travel to various sites.
