POSITION TITLE: Cost Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Accounting

REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: None

POSITION SUMMARY: The Cost Analyst will collect and analyze financial information related to the organization’s expenses, seeking ways to improve accuracy of budgets and forecasts, and to decrease the cost of assigned departments and projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyzes expenses and cost transactions; ensures that transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate projects and departments.
• Provides detailed financial analysis and reports of expenses, includes breakdowns of project costs, forecasts of remaining expenses, and opportunities to increase efficiency.
• Conducts market research as needed to recommend changes to pricing or business models.
• Prepares periodic cost reconciliation reports tracking data such as changing labor and supply costs.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required.
• At least three years of related experience required.

• Ability to keep consistent and accurate records

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conform to all Wayne Metals, LLC environmental policies, programs and procedures.

• Conform to all State of Indiana laws and regulations.

• Report any environmental concerns to supervisor, Environmental Management Representative, or the Plant manager.
