JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Improvement Specialist I is responsible for supporting the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement efforts within the Department of Health, Human, and Veteran Services. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify areas for improvement, collect and analyze data, and facilitate evidence-based practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality public health services. This role is crucial in ensuring that programs and services are efficient, effective, and meet or exceed established state and national accreditation standards and meet the needs of the community. This position requires a combination of analytical skills, healthcare quality improvement expertise, and a commitment to improving public health outcomes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • Master in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Lean six sigma certification.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least one (1) year of experience in public health quality management or healthcare quality improvement.
  • Knowledge of public health principles, quality standards, regulations, and state and national accreditation standards.
  • Strong knowledge of regulations, and best practices relevant to the industry.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, statistical tools, and quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to promoting and improving public health outcomes.
