**Description**

**Job purpose**:

The WPI Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing day to day operations of the warehouse in a cost effective manner. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for establishing manpower requirements, staff accordingly, and delegate authority as needed. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for establishing individual job functions and training staff to meet these requirements. Amongst many other responsibilities, the Supervisor will promote and maintain a positive work environment among the team members.

**Duties and responsibilities:**

* Review workload and establish priority to provide proper service

* Establish and maintain acceptable metrics of performance for warehouse personnel

* Train all warehouse personnel in proper procedures to ship, receive, and stock

* Establish and negotiate freight routings to minimize cost and maximize service levels

* Capable of performing ERP system related functions/transactions as required

* Resolve all material discrepancies to maintain proper inventory control

* Assure all warehouse equipment in maintained in proper working order

* Assure compliance with all applicable freight shipment and Hazmat policies

* Order all warehouse supplies for consistent daily operations

* Perform employee performance reviews and salary increases

* Assist employees in meeting or exceeding minimum productivity standards

* Responsible that all orders are received/shipped daily as required

* Oversee housekeeping meets expectations in all areas

* Handle special assignments in inventory preparation

* Interview prospective employees

* Maintain and promote Safety in team

* Promote good welfare within the company and its divisions

* Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

* Must have a minimum of 4 years previous shipping/receiving experience

* Must have previous experience processing claims with vendors and carriers

* Must be able to understand freight tariffs or contracts to help implement freight programs

* High school diploma or equivalency certificate

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**

* Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend and twist several times daily

* Must have flexible work hours and days.

* Must be dependable and able to work independently

* Must maintain good client relations

* Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe environment

* Must have the ability to effectively supervise, motivate and evaluate others

* Must have the ability to effectively operate stand-up electric forklifts

* Must have the ability to effectively operate 4000 to 5000 lb. capacity forklifts

* Must have understanding of Inventory Control and reporting skills

* Must be able to analyze information

* Must possess good judgment skills

* Must be trained properly to handle hazardous material shipments

* Must have knowledge to handle international shipments

* Must have ability to handle branch personnel and customer complaints professionally

* Must be able to resolve problems with part number and quantity questions

* Ability to communicate effectively with others, both oral and in writing

* Must possess a valid state Drivers License and provide proof of liability coverage meeting Company standards

* Ability to apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner

* Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments in a proactive and constructive manner
