Waste Connections is Hiring a Site Manager Near Saint Petersburg, FL

We are currently seeking an Site Manager with strong leadership experience to join our Material Recovery Facility. In this position you will be responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and ensuring the safety of our employees and workers in our facility. You will be trained and mentored in the solid waste and recycle business to prepare you for future management opportunities in our growing company. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen and leadership experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and be accountable for the performance of a team
  • Assign work and supervise the work of a team operating rolling stock and recycle equipment
  • Monitor progress of daily operations, and assign employees to complete tasks, and make operational changes as necessary
  • Conduct safety meetings, perform observations, and complete operational and site audits
  • Maintain employee performance records
  • Responsible for teamwork
  • Ensure progressive disciplinary action is taken when necessary
  • Conduct facility inspections to ensure proper work procedures and compliance are followed
  • Receive and review customer complaints
  • Perform performance reviews of all direct reports
  • Complete others duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualified applicants will meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Servant Leader
  • Self-directed, and accountable
  • Strong operational acumen
  • Comfortable solving complex problems
  • 2 years prior Supervisory experience; waste industry preferred
  • 4 year degree preferred
  • Must be willing and able to relocate for future promotional opportunities.
