The Wasserstrom Company is the leading Food Service Distributor in the nation. Established in 1902, we are a family owned company with our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. We have an opening for a CategoryManager at our Corporate office. This position will be responsible for identifying opportunities for sourcing products from suppliers, improve service levels and provide products at a more profitable rate. The Category Manager will also work with the sales teams to help customers with sourcing requests and cost savings. Previous Sourcing and Buyer experienced professionals are welcome to apply! *The Wasserstrom Company is currently operating under a hybrid schedule that incorporates both teleworking and in-office hours. Employees may be required to report to the office when requested by leadership &/or for their initial job training.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:

• Lead sourcing, negotiating, and procurement for new products.
• Participate in overall product sourcing strategy for existing new and emerging products.
• Conduct product profitability analysis for supplier and product selection
• Collaborate with a wide variety of cross-functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to identify products to maintain and expand market opportunities.
• Conduct market research to determine market trends.
• Produce materials comparing products in competitive markets
• Identify opportunities for comparable third-party products to broaden company's product line.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a minimum of2 years experience in Sourcing, Negotiation and Procurement of Products.
• Food Service disposable products and smallwares experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent analytical skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and SAP.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
