Washington Golf and Country Club is Hiring a Facilities Manager Near Arlington, VA

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and operations of our facilities. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of our buildings and equipment, as well as managing a team of maintenance staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills to make a significant impact on our organization.

Duties:

− Recruit, hire, train and supervise maintenance and repair personnel

− Schedule hours of work for department staff

− Schedule workloads and work orders for all areas of the Club and its equipment

− Procure parts and items needed for maintenance, completion of work orders and general department supplies

− Prepare and monitor budgets for the Engineering Department, taking corrective action as needed to help ensure that budget goals are attained

− Oversee the security and housekeeping functions of the Club, including management and administration of the contracts with the third-party administrator for these services

− Ensure supplies for security and housekeeping functions are ordered and maintained

− Attend staff meetings and coordinate efforts to schedule work activities

− Oversee daily water checks on swimming and whirlpool water and filtering system for positive health protection as well as supervise maintenance of pool facilities

− Control key systems

− May plan and gain committee approval for special projects to coordinate remodeling of club areas

− Maintain ongoing energy management program for the property’s HVAC and lighting systems

− Assist appropriate individuals in checking fire protection systems for proper operating and training personnel for use

− Manage the Club’s on-going preventive maintenance program for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, elevators and all Club buildings

− Maintain a log for equipment repairs

− Serve as a liaison between Club and regulatory agencies, including health and safety inspections and County Building/Fire Department

− Suggest cost-saving alternatives applicable to maintenance and engineering responsibilities

− Conduct periodic inspections of engineering-related facilities

− Interact with outside contractors/vendors

− Help develop short- and long-term requirements for repair and maintenance, capital replacement and capital requirements.

− Schedule or respond to maintenance requests

− Develop and monitor maintenance checklists

− Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies

− Ensure that OSHA work requirements are met and that MSD’s are available

− Regularly inspect all front- and back-of-the-house service areas and equipment to ensure that sanitation, safety, energy management, preventive maintenance, and other standards of the department are met

− Attend staff meetings and conduct departmental meetings

− Operate as the liaison to the Club’s Facilities Committee

− Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

− HS Diploma/GED Equivalent

− Experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

− Experience supervising a maintenance/engineering staff/team and demonstrated leadership skills in managing issues at all levels and ability to troubleshoot up to complex issues

− Ability to grasp and understand various concepts as they relate to the industry as a whole with good deductive skills and ability to budget and control costs

− Ability to perform daily water checks on swimming and whirlpool water and filtering system for positive health protection as well as supervise maintenance of pool facilities

− Excellent experience in Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, concrete, carpentry, systems and general contracting • Excellent computer skills

− Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines

− Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations

− Demonstrated strong oral and written communication, negotiation and analytical skills

− Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills

− Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
