Job Description:
General Purpose
The Water Resources Engineer is responsible for planning, evaluating, and managing existing water resource systems as well as analyzing and evaluating proposed projects.

Works under the supervision of the Associate General Manager for Operations and Planning

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear both in person and by telephone; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; smell, use hands to finger, handle or feel computers and other standard business equipment and reach with hands and arms; feel, or operate objects, tools. Employees are frequently required to walk, including on landscapes that may include uneven terrain, rocks and/or hills. Frequent driving to multiple project locations is necessary.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Mental Demands:
Employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills, read, and interpret complex information and documents; analyze and solve problems; observe and interpret data or information; use math and mathematical reasoning; continuously learn and apply new information or skills; perform highly detailed work on multiple concurrent tasks with precision under deadlines and with interruptions; and interact with others encountered in the course of work. Employee will also be required to manage difficult situations, resolve conflict, and address challenging issues.

Regular exposure: Typical office conditions.
Occasional exposure: Outdoor weather conditions when in the field, travel in a district vehicle between work sites, rough and uneven terrain when visiting construction sites.
Noise level: Typically, quiet. May range from moderate to very loud when in the field or under rare circumstances.
Individuals should be comfortable in all these environments and be willing to work some hours matching construction work. Employee will be required to attend some evening meetings such as District board meetings and city planning our council meetings and may be required to travel to meetings, training, or conferences out of town and overnight.
