WIC BREASTFEEDING PEER COUNSELOR*
Washington County Public Health (WIC Program) is currently accepting applications for a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor* on a per diem basis. The WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor promotes breastfeeding as the optimal method of infant feeding for WIC participants. This position provides breastfeeding education and outreach to WIC applicants and participants.
*This is a Civil Service Competitive position. Provisional appointee must take a future-dated exam and be reachable on the resulting Eligible List for permanent appointment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from High School or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and must have personal experience breastfeeding an infant.
*NYS WIC requires that a Peer Counselor has personally breastfed an infant.
RATE OF PAY: $16.30/hour (no benefits included)
