The Washington-Caldwell School District is seeking a strategic and dynamic Middle School Teacher. The selected candidate must have a strong teaching background in Science and Social Studies, excellent communication skills, and a strong background of experience/understanding of the Common Core State Standards. Experience with Project Lead the Way is preferred.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled, motivated, energetic, and creative as well as demonstrate the ability to provide students with rigorous and high-quality learning experiences. The candidate will be a collaborative team player who embraces ongoing professional development. The educator should have strong classroom management and effective behavior management.
The individual will be teaching 6-8 grade Science and Social Studies.
Essential Qualifications
- Differentiated instruction and assessments for all students
- Strong knowledge of Science and Social Studies concepts and resources
- Interest in managing Academic Bowl
- Support the learning needs of students at varying levels of progress
- Strong technology skills- Plan and deliver effective instruction that integrates technology, engages students, enhances student learning experiences, and provides students opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
- Observe and evaluate student development and performance
- Cooperate with and participate in the total school program
- Update and maintain accurate records
- Use multiple student data elements to modify instruction and improve student learning
- Communicate effectively, professionally, collaboratively, and positively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Exhibit a strong, positive attitude with the belief that each student can be taught and has the right and capacity to achieve personal academic excellence
- Practice PBIS effectively and consistently
- Work collaboratively with other teachers to ensure that all students are successfully progressing
- Demonstrates strong classroom management skills
