Warren Truck Equipment, Inc. is Hiring a Shop Foreman Near Columbia, SC

Role and Responsibilities
This position is a full-time position responsible for daily operations and production of the assigned area in the shop at Warren Equipment. Safety is very important to Warren, and this position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work setting for all employees in their area. The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Adhere to the Warren Handbook
Perform routine quality checks, as well as final quality inspections on all units/pieces/parts/etc. and record defects as they arise accordingly. Continuously improve quality control documents.
Adhere to all standards, regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements as mandated by OSHA, state, and federal laws. This includes all Lock Out/Tag Out procedures for maintenance personnel and those operating and/or testing equipment
Participate in monthly safety meetings
Appropriately document any employee who is not effectively performing their duties or adhering to Warren policies and standards. Report repeat issues with documentation to direct manager for disciplinary action.
Assist in hiring, training employees in area of expertise, leading by example in common safety/quality practices and reviewing performance of staff
Coordinate work among team members to ensure timely production per Schedule and or direct manager, keeping schedule up to date for a weekly production meeting
Requisition purchased parts through material manager spreadsheet, using Warren part numbers
Work with Engineering department to ensure parts and components are in stock for upcoming orders as well as relay any changes on plant floor to ensure parts are updated and or created for future use
Ensure team is continuously on task and performing routine checks continuously walking through the shop
Be prepared for and actively participate in weekly Production Meeting by updating schedule
Work with Parts Sales Manager to ensure all parts are shipped out upon completion (when applicable)
Provide customer service support when needed by sales
Be a subject matter expert for your area, knowing procedures and assembly processes to enable area personnel to complete their tasks quickly and properly
Creating working procedures for welding, assembly, painting, and other shop duties
Participate in a team environment that produces a well rounded and respectful team atmosphere
Qualifications and Education Requirements
This position requires 10 years industry experience. Welding inspection abilities including aluminum and steel MIG welding, metal profiling, and general metal fabrication skills. The employee must have had at least 2 years of supervisory and or lead experience.
Preferred Skills
The employee must have excellent knowledge and understanding of welding and fabricating principles. This position requires the ability to make important decisions autonomously. The employee must have excellent personal skills and be able to work in and foster a team environment. The employee must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. This position requires the employee to learn and utilize the company software (currently Great Plains).
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will operate primarily in a shop setting but may be required to spend frequent time in the office and field. In this role, the employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
The employee is expected to be on time, ready to work on a daily basis. Normal business hours are determined by the employee’s manager.
