Warren County ESC is recruiting for the 24.25 school year, a new innovative Supervisor for the John K. Lazares Alternative School for student grades 7th-12th grade. The John K. Lazares Alternative School is on the Warren County Career Center Campus and educates at-risk students from around the region. The ideal candidate will have a passion for students and possess leadership skills in the areas of instruction, work force development, and graduation pathways for students in Ohio. Candidates should hold an administrative license from the Ohio Department of Education. Three years of experience as a supervisor in the educational programming field.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with diverse populations at all levels.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities.
Experience with behavioral mental health programming and services in an educational setting.
Knowledge and understanding of graduation requirements to include SEALS.
Knowledge and understanding of Workforce Development.
Knowledge in best practices for Social Emotional Learning.
Knowledge and experience in Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports. (PBIS)
Knowledge in data based problem solving processes.
Valid Ohio Driver’s License, Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted, Ability to maneuver stairs unassisted General Duties:
Under administrative direction of the Superintendent, acts as the educational leader of the assigned building following board policies and procedures; supervises assigned staff and pupil personnel, provides daily instruction to meet the goals and objectives of the individualized educational and graduation plans.
Essential Functions:
Serves as a role model for educators and students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
Helps instill in students and staff the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
Shall perform such other duties as the Governing Board may assign.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace through his/her employment in the County/District.
Observes Risk Reduction Safety Rules and Regulations of the Warren County ESC and School Districts, State, Federal OSHA laws and will be evaluated to the extent of compliance and implementation as an employee of such rules and regulations for safety in the workplace while visiting such sites in line of work duties.
Attend state meetings regarding state and federal mandates which affect program.
Attend all IEP meetings.
Evaluation of staff.
Communicate with parents on program and discipline issues.
Communicate with school districts on referral and dismissal of students.
Attend out of district meetings.
Observations of potential referrals.
Conduct weekly staff meetings.
Sign off on time sheets.
Provide training for staff.
County representative for program.
Handle all discipline issues.
Communicate with WCESC regarding all matters of the Phoenix Academy.
Maintain the program budget.
Prepare and approve requisitions, complete ordering of materials.
Approve all personnel requests (i.e., personal/sick days).
