The Used Equipment Sales Representative (Out of Territory) plays a vital role in our business by sourcing, evaluating, appraising, purchasing and selling used equipment. Your exceptional negotiation skills and deep knowledge of the equipment industry will contribute to our success in providing high-quality used equipment to our valued customers.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Collaborate cross functionally to determine used equipment needs across the dealership.
  • Locate, purchase and sell used equipment for sales, rental and inventory purposes.
  • Assist in facilitating inspections to assess the condition of used equipment in order to determine its market value based on factors such as hours, maintenance records, accident history, and overall condition.
  • Assist in setting competitive prices for used equipment based on market research, condition, and demand. Skillfully negotiate with buyers and/or sellers to ensure fair prices and favorable terms.
  • Facilitate the exchange and preparation of sold machines.
  • Close sales by guiding customers through the purchase process, assisting with financing options as necessary, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry professionals to achieve revenue goals.
  • Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to inquiries, addressing customer concerns, and facilitating equipment demonstrations.
  • Source and grow sales with new business opportunities; develop new customer opportunities.
  • Document and maintain all purchase, sales, exchanges and/or other business transaction records.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, update used equipment listings, and manage the organization and presentation of used equipment on the sales lot or online platforms.
  • Stay up to date with market trends and pricing fluctuations to make informed buying and selling decisions.
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, federal, and company policies, procedures and/or regulations throughout the buying and selling process.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Highschool diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-3 years of related experience and/or training in heavy equipment and/or selling/buying; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills.
