Position : Food and Beverage Manager

Location : Western Hills Country Club, Mt. Vernon, Indiana

Western Hills Country Club is a distinguished private club in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, known for its challenging golf course, Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis / pickleball facility and fully stocked restaurant and bar.

With a robust calendar of events and a strong membership base of around 300, we are dedicated to providing exceptional service and quality experiences for our members and guests.

Job Overview :

As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting our membership by ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and dependable service of excellence.

You will lead a team of 2-4 staff members, collaborating closely with the General Manager and Bar staff to uphold our standards.

This position offers a competitive salary, reflective of your experience, in a work environment that values diversity, inclusion, respect, fairness, and understanding.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee kitchen / bar operations during scheduled shifts, including decision-making, staff support, guest interaction, and adherence to standards of product quality and cleanliness.
  • Maintain a current staffing plan, prepare schedules, and ensure proper staffing in the kitchen for all shifts.
  • Engage with guests to ensure they have a quality experience, addressing any issues or complaints promptly.
  • Monitor kitchen operations and collaborate with the General Manager to promptly address any discrepancies.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance sales and control costs, developing strategies to capitalize on these opportunities.
  • Manage inventory effectively, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and cost-effective food product storage and usage.
  • Act as Manager on Duty in the General Manager’s absence, overseeing the restaurant's entire operation.

Requirements :

  • Experience in a restaurant management role, with a strong understanding of restaurant operations.
  • Experience in purchasing and production, with a preference for candidates who have kitchen experience.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move freely during the shift.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English, with a positive attitude that inspires your team and guests.

Compensation : Salary is negotiable based on experience.
