Outbound Supervisor
Introduction
We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Outbound Supervisor to join our team. This pivotal role focuses on overseeing and improving our outbound operations, ensuring efficient and timely dispatch of goods, and leading a team committed to exceptional service delivery. Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of the outbound team to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of staff to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use of labor.
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching and training to improve productivity and quality.
  • Implement and enforce safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Analyze shipping volumes and carrier performance to optimize logistics and reduce costs.
  • Manage inventory control processes to minimize losses and ensure the accuracy of stock levels.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to foster a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues related to order processing, delivery, and customer service.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the outbound operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations as well as legal requirements related to shipping and export.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and other supervisors to align on objectives and share best practices.
  • Handle disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and employee relations as needed.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on team performance, shipping metrics, and other relevant data to present to management.
  • Participate in the hiring and training process for new team members, ensuring they meet the required skill set and can contribute effectively to the team.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of managing and directing outbound logistics operations
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS)
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with shipping carriers and logistics service providers
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations related to logistics and shipping
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring departmental costs
  • Ability to analyze data and provide insights into logistics processes
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Six Sigma is a plus
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, if necessary
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • CPR and first aid certification is preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Salary $55,000 - $65,000 Benefits (401k with match, Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off)
