Spend your days with some wonderful people! We are seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide support for our supported persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities on an ON-CALL basis. Must be available (sometimes with short notice) to work a shift.

Positions are available for Day Shifts (Monday through Friday) ON-CALL.

Typical Schedules:

• 8am - 4pm, or
• 7am - 3pm

Need staff with flexibility to report for work with short notice.

NOTE: Must be able to commit to working the entire shift as assigned. Must be flexible to work in various facilities as needed (in NW and NE DC).

Our Direct Support Professionals provide supportive personal care and companionship services. DSPs coach, supervise, monitor, and assist our persons with daily activities such as shopping, meal preparation, entertainment, medical appointments, financial management, physical fitness and recreation, community access and relationship building, emotion management and coping skills, and helping to maintain a healthy home environment.

To qualify for the Direct Support Professional:

• Minimum of 21 years of age and a High School Diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities strongly preferred.
• Ability to pass DC Department of Health (DOH) Fingerprinting and Background Check.
• Must submit a Health Certificate (physical and Tuberculosis clearance) indicating fitness for employment.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written communication form.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and use proactive strategies to deliver quality services.
• Computer proficiency (i.e. MS Office).

Licenses/Certifications:

• First Aid and CPR certified
• Food Sanitation License
• TME (Trained Medication Employee) certification required.
• Valid state-issued identification (Driver’s License, Non Driver’s License)

Pay: $20.97 - $25.25 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
