JOB OPENING – Construction Detailer – Denver (Remote)

Walsh Door & Security is seeking a Construction Detailer as we expand into the Denver, Colorado area. We specialize in commercial doors, frames, hardware, cameras, and access control systems for projects throughout Iowa and the surrounding states. environment, this is a great opportunity! Walsh Door & Security is a growing company with 140 team members and three locations – Des Moines, Iowa City and Kansas City. This opportunity is a full-time, added remote position.

Job Description:

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and contract requirements to prepare accurate schedules for doors, frames, and hardware on commercial construction projects.
• Review contract documents to accurately detail opening quantities required for projects.
• Enter costs in the scheduling process and compare to the estimated costs.
• Prepare shop drawings, schedules, and submittals using manufacturer catalog cut sheets for the products selected in the schedule. Prepare required drawings for elevations and corresponding sections using company software.
• Review the schedules and submittals for errors that can affect the project prior to sending the job out for approval.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must have three years’ experience of which at least two years’ experience as a Detailer for a door, frame, and hardware company.
• Must have a minimum of two years’ experience with Comsense ERP Software.
• AutoCAD or Revit software experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Detail oriented.
• Must be able to handle multiple projects under a deadline.
• Must have ability to handle large work load, multitask, and maintain a positive attitude.
• “Will do”, trainable, team player type attitude.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and security background check.
