Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing medication and healthcare services to patients. Your expertise and knowledge will contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:

Enters prescription data into pharmacy software by reading the prescription; translating information into corresponding system codes; transcribing appropriate prescription data, and creating or modifying patient/customer records.

Fills prescriptions by retrieving prescription orders; counting, pouring, measuring or weighing medication tablets, liquids, and creams; mixing or reconstituting medications as needed; selection, filling, and labeling prescription containers; and operating scanning equipment and /or automated dispensing systems to ensure prescription accuracy.

Monitors and resolves problems in the prescription fulfillment process by processing information for third-party insurance claim; rescanning illegible images; alerting patients to inventory that is out of stock, partial fills, and the need for physician authorization on refills; and identifying situations requiring pharmacist's action and resolution.

Process customer purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware; approving monetary transactions; and using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold.

Promotes and maintains the Pharmacy's professional reputation and provides patients/customers with pharmacy products and services in accordance with local, state and federal laws and corporate policies and procedures.

Checks out prescriptions from the pharmacy to the customer at pick-up by verifying information according to corporate policies and procedures.

Complies with company policies, procedures and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans.

Other duties:
- Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Perform medication reconciliation and review patient profiles for drug interactions
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications
- Maintain accurate records of medications dispensed and patient information
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
- Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of drug names, dosages, and classifications
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Minimum Qualifications:

Meets state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, such as minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the State Board of Pharmacy.

Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
