Job Description

Walker Partners is seeking qualified candidates for the entry-level position of Field Crew Technician to work out of our Waco, Texas location.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Complete field notes/staking sheets and field calculations.
• Utilize level rod, prism pole or measuring tape at designated points to assist in determining location and elevations of various features.
• Lay out stakes for map-making, land construction, utility line construction and other surveys.
• Cut and clear brush and trees from line of survey with machete, brush hook or chain saw.
• Keep crew vehicle stocked with supplies and equipment; clean and organize vehicle.
• Ability to take personal responsibility for the quality, accuracy and time constraints of work product.
• Comply with company policies, including safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Strong skills of time management, organizational and multi-tasking.
• Additional duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to walk long distances and carry hammers, stakes, laths, etc. for the purpose of laying out staking over and across various terrain.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry various weights.
• Capacity to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors extended hours, occasional overtime, and overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with boundary, topographic, as-built surveys, construction staking, ROW staking and staking of utility pipelines is a plus.
• Familiarity of GPS equipment and data collection is a plus, but not required.
