Position Overview

This position is responsible for being a thought leader with excellent communication, networking, and program management skills. This dynamic multifunctional position involves elements of marketing, business development, and customer engagement. In this role you will manage the launch and day-to-day execution of marketing efforts, outreach support, and engagement strategies with our partners. The Marketing Director works closely with internal and external resources and will be responsible for empowering communities and enriching lives through relevant marketing activities to engage prospects, creating awareness and education in the community, and assisting the client in reaching their goals.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Embrace and operate within the core values.
  • Lead and develop team members based on core values-driven culture that encourages top performance with compassion.
  • Supervise the department and provide guidance and feedback to the marketing team.
  • Develop a robust strategic annual marketing and communications plan, coordinated with outreach, supporting program operations, and ensuring the overall success aligning with forecasted expectations.
  • Work with the client and community-based organizations to develop on- and offline-marketing materials including websites, direct mailers, brochures, testimonials, technical fact sheets, incentive applications forms, email and direct mail campaigns, trade ally newsletters, advertising campaigns, posters, display materials, etc, as needed.
  • Confer with initiative program team to help draft communications within the Strategic Communication Plan
    • Emails notifying programs updates
    • Weekly report template language
    • Help brainstorm ideas with any agencies that may cite leads as a barrier
  • Control budgets and allocate resources amongst projects.
  • Become the organization's agent towards external parties such as media, stakeholders, and potential clients and build strategic partnerships.
  • Originate marketing requests and work closely with the clients marketing team to execute designed marketing plan.
  • Work with outreach team to help promote and support events.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years of experience in marketing and/or outreach while managing campaigns and projects, preferably in energy efficiency implementation.
  • Experience in various marketing/communication methodologies, digital campaigns, print media, marketing, communications system design, and advertising.
  • Experience in outreach or face to face sales.
  • Demonstrated ability understanding and accurately representing diverse cultures in marketing projects and campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in handling multiple priorities, project management and meeting deadlines and strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Proven relationship building, persuasion and influence skills.
  • Ability to proactively monitor and adjust activities to respond to changing circumstances and priorities to meet goals, proactively address issues as they arise and mitigate risks associated to events.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of creative services and finished production processes involved in creating marketing materials for print, and web.
  • Must be available for some client-required evening or weekend appointments.

Desired Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of energy efficiency program experience.
  • Experience in influencer marketing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of broadcast.
  • Previous experience with copy writing, editing, and proofreading.

Certification(s) and License(s)

  • Valid driver's license.

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time, including overnight travel.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Noise level is typically moderate
  • Team member could be exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles and risk of potential shock
