Waialae Country Club has an opening for a full-time AM Baker at our exclusive, beachside club; Home of the Sony Open! We are seeking an individual with a minimum of 3 years of experience and knowledge of basic baking techniques and methods.
Responsibilities Include:
Mixing, prepping, and baking doughs, batters, pastries, and quick breads.
Preparing, plating, and plattering all desserts/pastries for day of/next day events.
Keeping track of production and discard dates of all items with an emphasis on product quality.
Keeping up with inventory pars of ala carte items.
Communicating clearly on daily tasks and needs with the Pastry Chef & Executive Chef.
Completing daily tasks in a timely manner.
Keeping tools, equipment, and work area clean.
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education/experience. Formal culinary education is preferred.
Ability to read and follow recipes accordingly.
Ability to measure ingredients properly and according to recipe guideline.
Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Ability to adapt to member needs at a moment’s notice.
Creativity in creating new pastries.
Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
In addition to the requirements above, the AM Baker must also have knowledge of basic baking techniques and methods including:
Various dough and batter methods.
Biscuit method.
Tempering, folding, and creaming methods.
Familiarity with soft and hard crack sugar methods.
Proofing of pastry and bread doughs.
Familiarity with breakfast pastries with the ability to roll a variety of croissants and danish.

Pay Rate: Starting between $23.00-$25.00 per hour depending on experience
