Wabash is Hiring a Director, Product Management Near Indianapolis, IN

The Value Stream Manager is responsible for the tactical and financial health of the defined Value Stream. This includes responsibility for increasing the overall ratio of value to non-value; eliminating waste in the overall value chain from beginning to end for a defined product family; and for ensuring that the value stream executes consistently to achieve annual objectives. Activities often span across several independent organizations and functions. This person will ensure the efficient delivery of customer value throughout the value stream. Must be able to get deep into root cause analysis and problem solving while creating and sharing a long-term vision for the product line.

  • Understand the product family by conducting product routing analysis and appropriate groupings.
  • Conduct fact-based analysis of the current state map(s).
  • Prepare an ideal state map showing what the value stream could look like in the long term.
  • Provide input to the 3 year strategic plan.
  • Maintain a future state map that uses lean principles to eliminate waste and improve process value in the short to mid-term.
  • Assist in creating & executing a product roadmap and product plan to achieve the future state.
  • Lead the implementation of the plan in close coordination with the respective Process Owners.
  • Assist in the development of the demand plan for the defined value stream.
  • Leading and mobilizing the people inside and outside of the value stream to enable the required changes (including customers and suppliers).
  • Leading the day-to-day activities within the value stream to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.
  • Provide support for all activities related to Continuous Improvement efforts, enhancing knowledge of the tools, techniques and principles within the Wabash Management System (WMS), as well as other Enterprise Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies across the Value Streams.
  • Work with sales and pricing council, establish pricing strategy by product, by customer, by channel, across the Value Streams.
  • Making trade off decisions and recommendations.
