Job Description: A Financial Manager, also known as a Finance Manager, plays a crucial role in an organization by overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with legal financial practices, and contributing to the company's growth and success. They are responsible for managing financial resources, analysing data, and providing confidential strategic financial guidance. We are seeking a highly motivated professional with Consumer Goods and Inventory Accounting experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
· Generate financial data, compile reports, and analyze industry trends.
· Assess the financial health of the company and recommend strategies for growth.
· Develop and implement financial plans to achieve business objectives.
2. Department Oversight:
· Supervise the operations and development of the finance department.
· Create and review financial policies, procedures, and budgeting processes.
· Recruit, train, and assess financial staff.
3. Account Reconciliation and Compliance:
· Oversee the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual account reconciliations.
· Monitor compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
· Assist with cash flow forecasting.
4. Strategic Decision-Making:
· Advise colleagues and executive management on financial matters.
· Document the company's financial status and forecasts.
· Mediate financial issues between the organization, employees, stakeholders, shareholders, and investors.
5. Business Planning:
· Create strategic business plans based on financial analysis.
· Collaborate with other departments to achieve monetary goals.
6. Specific Tasks (as per your input):
· Maintain Balance Sheets: Regularly update and reconcile balance sheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
· Prepare and Present Financial Reports: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
· Record Daily Transactions: Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
· Update Internal Systems: Keep internal financial systems up-to-date with relevant data.
· Reconcile Bank Statements: Ensure bank statements align with company records, tracking payments and deposits.
· Budget Forecasting: Participate in budget planning and forecasting.
· Invoice and Expense Processing: Manage invoices, receipts, and expenses records.
· Aged Collections Follow-Up: Monitor overdue accounts and follow up with customers/vendors.
· Cash Flow Assistance: Assist in cash flow forecasting.
· Customer Service: Provide financial assistance and statements to vendors and customers.
