Job Description

As Editorial Director, you will contribute to the overall success of our brand by delivering compelling and on-brand content that aligns with the overall marketing strategy. As part of the marketing team, this role will be responsible for creating engaging, informative, and brand-driven content across digital, print, retail and experiential outlets that further amplifies our brand mission. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in content strategy and management, excellent writing and editing skills, and the ability to merge brand voice across all pillars of brand messaging to create strong connections with our community. Additionally, this candidate has a track record of creating successful content campaigns, as well as an understanding of SEO and how to create content that is optimized for search. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Lead strategic omni channel brand storytelling content to execute big-picture ideas that meet business objectives 
  • Key editorial strategist for global brand content: Lead brainstorms and deep dives to develop the narrative, manifesto, guidance, and key messaging. 
  • Work closely with marketing and creative leadership to develop editorial content strategies for our brand across marketing, ecommerce and retail channels to create an impactful and holistic 360 brand experience and ensure the alignment of content with our brand's visual identity and overall marketing strategy. 
  • Concept and create end-to-end storytelling aligned with seasonal brand campaigns, marketing initiatives and key product stories. 
  • Collaborate with marketing, ecommerce and creative on content strategy, communications and distribution plan for all branded content across channels 
  • Ensure branded content supports business goals and drives customer engagement and brand affinity 
  • Create and develop video scripts. 
  • Run narrative / interviews capture on shoots, as needed
  • Develop narratives for film/tv and social-first storytelling 
  • Collaborate on and present communications / content roll-out plans to brand and DTC channels;
  • Manage small copy/editorial team and develop editorial tone of voice throughout organization 
  • Inspire, mentor and coach future editorial and copy teams: in-house, agency and freelance partners. 
  • Assist in the research of relevant lifestyle stories or potential ambassador relationships to help bring to life content for the brand. Conduct interviews with campaign partners to be used in blogs, catalog editorials, and video pieces.
  • Conduct thorough research, fact-checking, and partner with subject experts as needed throughout content creation process 
  • Provide strategic input to guide the development of marketing campaign messaging and ensure they reflect our brand's values and objectives. 
  • Brainstorm new content activation opportunities that increase views and engagement 
  • Optimize content based on outlet and feedback 
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in copywriting, content, and fashion apparel, and share relevant insights with the team. 

Qualifications

  • 12 years of experience, agency or in-house, preferably working with consumer lifestyle brands.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. A relevant portfolio of published content 
  • Exceptional writing skills; Experience concepting campaigns, writing brand taglines, developing brand voices, content and editorial stories for a brand 
  • Experience directing narrative for a variety of marketing channels including ecommerce, events, social, tv, paid/organic social, retail and direct mail 
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to adapt writing styles to suit our brand's voice and tone. 
  • Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to translate fashion trends and brand identity into clear, persuasive copy. 
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey messaging concepts to internal teams. 
  • A passion for staying up to date with content and culture trends. An affinity for health, wellness, and sport, a plus. 

Additional Information

Pay Range: $150,000 - $175,000
