Voyages Health is Hiring a Behavioral Therapist - PRN | Voyages of Sugar Land Near Sugar, TX

Behavioral Therapist - LMSW, LCSW, or LPC

The responsibilities of the Therapist are to provide diagnostic assessments, therapy, and counseling and support services for a mixed caseload. This position will assist with the development of treatment plans, conducts individual family assessments and consults with attending psychiatrist or medical director concerning treatment plan and plan of care. The therapist will document interventions, provide referrals to outside resources and collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team. The essential functions of this position are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. The Therapist reports and is accountable to the Director of Social Services. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct Therapeutic Assessment/Counseling/Education Services

  • Collaborate with Inter-Disciplinary Team

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education: Master’s in Social Work with independent licensure in LICSW or LMFT with supervision ability preferred. LPC and LGSW’s will also be considered. Current BLS certification required. Crisis management certification per hospital policy and standards required.

Minimum Work Experience: Candidates with 2-3 years of experience in diagnostic assessment and therapy services

Required Licenses/Certifications: State-licensed required in the state in which facility resides.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of NASW code of conduct principles.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial assessments, utilization and case management principles.
  • Knowledgeable regarding individual and family-supportive counseling and advocacy.
  • Knowledge of age-specific competencies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic Microsoft desktop computer application skills.
  • Ability to work with hospital administration, professional, supportive and clerical personnel, patients and families.
