What will you do as a Commercial Analyst?
This position provides coordination of assigned systems and services in the sales and business development groups including related analyses and support for Internal approvals and administration.

What do we expect from you as a Commercial Analyst?
Minimum four-year college degree in business, chemistry or other related area required
MBA highly preferred
Minimum of 5 years administrative commercial experience; previous administrative experience in legal, operations or sales departments within the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical and related industries preferred; experience in Company or related industry desirable
Strong customer service skills; proven team player; organized
Working knowledge of Company offerings, services and company policies, rules, regulations and processes and procedures
Familiarity with company pricing procedures and basic contract Terms and Conditions a plus
Ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects, deadlines, customers, and conditions
Ability to analyze and summarize market and financial data; basic understanding of financial concepts such as budgeting, profitability, credit-worthiness, and related concepts
Good computer skills, including ability to easily use MS Office suite; various email, internet, intranet, and other programs; ability to create, read and manipulate Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations, including charts and graphs

What does your day look like?
Your core responsibilities are:
Demonstrate commitment to and support of Vopak’s SH&E principles and Values.
Creates proposals, contracts and setups for direct moves using standard templates
Ensures accuracy of details in each contract and contract amendment
Ensures deviations from contracts basic terms and conditions are brought to the attention of the appropriate party per company procedures
Produces standard contracts as directed
Ensures accuracy of contract commitment forms and communicates in an accurate and timely manner to the group responsible for invoicing
Produces contact letters with proposals, escalations communications and follow up letters.
Manages input and updating of contracts information and communicates to appropriate staff
Administration of Contract Escalations (rate increases)
Oversees contracts escalation (periodic rate increases)
Enters and maintains all pertinent contracts data in the appropriate software programs
Monitors, tracks and maintains all data related to escalation
Functions as first line of contact for customers when new services or prices need to be added to the contract or if customer has questions or problems with contracts and terms
Demonstrates working knowledge of present and past contracts
Assists in developing and maintaining various budget information
Prepares Investment Proposals, project summaries and presentations as required
Seeks out market intelligence; performs market studies; analyzes information as requested
Collects and monitors customer developments; works directly with customers
Assists in strategy development
Develops and maintains information and reports as needed.
Maintains master customer lists and makes them available as necessary
Maintains various books, reports and information and makes them available to department personnel as needed
Inputs customer market data into database
Participates in community outreach activities
Trains in Company fundamentals and operational excellence standards. Acts as the focal point for global Key Accounts Managers, VIP and other Commercial Excellence initiatives as assigned

Work Environment
This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to outside elements. Most extreme elements are heat in the summer months of up to 104°F (40°C) and some exposure to cold of generally no less than 15°F (-10°C) in the winter months. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds, including fumes and smells, some of them hazardous. The employee may enter confined spaces and work in elevated environments. Employee must be able to wear PPE required by the location. General office noise may be experienced and louder sounds and vibrations when outside. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, speak and hear. The employee is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required, on occasion, to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may be required to climb ladders/storage tanks up to 50’ in height. The employee may be required to enter confined spaces. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to travel by air, rail, bus, or car.
