We are Vontas, a leader in transportation software, and we need an Experienced Field Service Technician for our North American customer base.

The Field Service Technician will ensure our products work superbly with our client’s bus fleets. The right candidate will lead field integrations of Vontas mobile technology, deliver verifications of designs and offer vehicle installation solutions. The Field Service Technician will earn elite status traveling throughout North America as a road warrior with extended stays in some of the most progressive Transit savvy markets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support installation of Vontas products meeting industry standards and guidelines.
• Ensure optimum equipment operation and customer satisfaction.
• Supports and audits prototype installations to verify the system design documentation, system integration, and vehicle functionality are sound.
• Supports and inspects technology integration throughout vehicle build.
• Performing operational maintenance, system and technical product troubleshooting, repair and system tests.
• Support duties include contact with internal and external customers by phone, email and/or on-site visits as assigned.
• Works to troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and configuration problems with the 3rd level support engineers.
• Leads continuous improvement activities by reviewing, changing, and improving processes in line with changing customer expectations/organizational goals.
• Conforms to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple personnel and teams with competing deadlines.
• Other duties include formal/informal training.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience with automotive computer electronics, commercial mobile radio installations, and or mobile hardware assembly and testing.
• Previous testing, analysis, and troubleshooting of complex electronic systems.
• Must be able to demonstrate and train others in use analyzers, meters, and other test equipment.
• Ability to read, understand, and generate mechanical drawings.
• Effective mathematic skills to perform measurements and calculations
• Prefer Associate of Applied Science degree or better work experience in the Automotive Technology, Electronics Engineering, and Computer Information Systems fields.
