Vonage is Hiring a Remote Paralegal- Telecommunications/Regulatory Compliance

The role and why it matters:

We are seeking a dedicated telecommunications/electronic communications services regulatory Paralegal to join our legal team and play a vital role in supporting our compliance activities. This position will report to the Director- Legal, Telecom Regulatory Compliance and play a key role in global compliance activities related to telecommunications laws and messaging industry standards..

  1. Legal and Business experience :

Specific to telecommunications and electronic communications services, you will:

  • Project manage and research various countries’ laws and regulations, including organizing such research for future reference
  • Manage annual and periodic reporting to global regulatory agencies, including coordinating information-gathering from internal stakeholders
  • Assist with researching and answering complaints from global regulatory agencies
  • Support the in-house Regulatory Board in developing and implementing regulatory and industry requirements 
  • Assist the Director, Legal, Telecom Regulatory Compliance in staying abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and messaging industry standards and conveying those changes internally
  • Handle various internal inquiries

 What’s required for application:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field
  •  Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Paralegal law firm or corporate legal department in the telecommunications/electronic communications service sector
  • Familiarity with the telecommunications/electronic communications service regulatory landscape
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one country’s laws and regulations in the telecommunications/electronic communications service sector and a willingness to learn about other countries.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a meticulous attention to details
  • Proficient in conducting legal research and summarizing findings.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to assess complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders, up to and including senior-level management..
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • You will possess a high level of integrity and be committed to the highest ethical standards.
