Volt is immediately hiring for Maintenance Technician in Austin, Texas.
As an Maintenance Technician you will:
- Perform preventive maintenance, general maintenance and repair, including such things as installation of equipment, work tables, tools or other items,
- Maintain calibration of measurement and test equipment, including all applicable records.
- Follow process instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSP's) and verbal instructions from the Site Operations Manager,
- Maintain, records, checklists and log books on maintenance performed and inspections conducted.
- Maintain tools and test equipment in a serviceable state.
- Adhere to plant and corporate safety policies.
- Fabricate and assemble production fixtures.
- Fill out supply request forms to order materials necessary to ensure that all production equipment operates in an efficient manner.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Ability to communicate uncomplicated data, instructions, production results, quality issues, and similar subjects both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to distinguish between the colors of red, orange, yellow, blue, green and violet. Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to speak, read and write English.
- High degree of manual dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination.
- Hands-on familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to calculate basic mathematic functions and formulas. Can calculate ratios, percentages, and fractions.
- Uses Excel spreadsheets and can write simple formulas and create spreadsheets.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1 or more years of work experience as a maintenance person in an industrial environment is required.
