WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Vice President of Production and Compliance will help to optimize our business strategy and drive process to improve efficiency and reduce costs through leadership, collaboration, and innovative technologies. This individual will utilize product and process knowledge to manage and execute their immediate functions for all brands within the Liberated scope of business. The candidate will lead a large team and align all regional counterparts and global suppliers to support initiatives of quality, cost control and DIFOT (delivery in full, on time) performance. 

  • Oversee Production and Compliance functions to support the organization to maximize results and improve efficiencies
  • Review and refine standard operating procedures within respective functions and systems (ERP & supply chain platform) to better optimize resources and drive operational improvements
  • Ensure respective teams can execute effectively, by clearly defining and aligning on the right scope, briefs, KPI’s and deliverables, while mobilizing the right resources to achieve success
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, promoting professional growth and development of the team
  • Monitor progress toward plans and adjust as needed; ensure critical information is clearly communicated out to immediate team, cross functional partners, and leadership, as there are changes, challenges, and or opportunities 
  • Lead direct team to support and optimize the supply chain through purchase order consolidation and supplier management, not only across direct channels and regions operated by Liberated, but also external licensed regions, participating in the purchasing of Liberated designed, developed, and sourced products
  • Work closely with Global Head of Production, Development & Sourcing (PD&S) along with direct leadership by function, to drive alignment and ensure effective commercialization of deliverables to support the department and all functions 
  • Review global purchasing demand against initial projections for cost optimization opportunities 
  • Redefine and communicate WIP (work in progress) purchase order management tool and process, along with performance measures to direct teams and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery performance and quality 
  • Closely monitor sales order demand and bridge communication between Production, Customer Service, Planning, Finance, D&L & Sales teams as it relates to delivery exceptions or critical issues with purchase orders 
  • Communicate and understand challenges as they arise in countries of origin within the supply chain, based on variables such as geo/political impacts, delays related to regional material and transit issues
  • Understand supplier production capabilities, capacities, and lead times, regularly report performance and or challenges to upstream Product and Planning teams 
  • Support and drive supply chain optimization initiatives in partnership with Distribution and Logistics 
  • Partner with cross functional teams on seasonal purchasing calendar to maximize factory efficiency, reduce lead times, improve visibility and speed to market on key initiatives 
  • Establish relationships and maintain communication with key suppliers to urgently resolve production or compliance related issues
  • In collaboration with the Sr. Director of Sourcing, create an 18-month, multi branded rolling capacity plan with time and action, for key fabric platforms and categories across designated suppliers 
  • Clearly outline and establish seasonal time and action calendar for immediate functions, including examples such as, bulk material submission, fabric cut and dye dates, size balancing deadlines, trim and labels to factory, PO distro dates, to better standardize the process and expectations for direct teams and suppliers
  • Oversee Compliance team and ownership of vendor manual & agreements, factory on-boarding process, QC standards and reporting, material, and trim testing, along with certification requirements as it relates to industry standards, not only within N. America but all key regions 
  • Understand label and trim requirements in collaboration with legal counsel and Sr. Manager of Trims 
  • Manage registrations of fabrics and garments, understand all regulatory risks and requirements 
  • Collaborate with Finance on invoice validation, approval process and supplier payments
  • Fiscal year budget setting and quarterly forecast updates by department 
  • Plan and manage any overseas production or compliance trips as needed 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Minimum 10 years in Supply Chain management roles, including production, supply chain planning, operations, fulfillment/procurement, product development and/or logistics/distribution
  • Apparel manufacturing company experience preferred, especially a fast-moving, multi region, channel and brand, apparel manufacturing business with a global sourcing strategy
  • 8 years supervisory role/experience managing a team
  • 8 years with a leading supply chain platform solution; preferably, Infor Nexus and Full Circle or relevant experience with similar inventory & DRP modules in Manugistics, Logility, SAP, or Oracle
  • Strong working knowledge and experience implementing Production and Compliance leading practices & principles
  • Strong project management skills, business acumen, data analysis and ability to apply critical thinking to solutions and problem solving 
  • Experience managing multiple initiatives, teams, integrations, and projects simultaneously 
  • Growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new tools and building process improvement 
  • Strong product acumen and working knowledge of apparel product development processes, including design, development, costing, tech and sourcing 
  • Excellent organization and project management with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Proactive and detail-oriented mindset, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in all related activities
  • Detailed knowledge of garment construction and textiles
  • Strong understanding of Clothing & Textile U.S regulations & customs requirements 
  • Word, Excel: required knowledge at advanced level
  • Centric PLM, Full Circle, Infor Nexus: experience preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, Supply Chain or related Business Management degree. 
  • APICS or CSCMP certification not required but highly valued
  • This position is in person at our HQ in Costa Mesa, CA; however, with a limited WFH policy

Liberated Brands is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in Costa Mesa, CA is $190,000 - $220,000. This position is Hybrid and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location.
