We are currently seeking a certified sign language interpreter to service a grade school caseload in a remote setting.

Role Overview:Your responsibilities will include interpreting classroom lectures, discussions, and other educational activities in real-time, ensuring that all participants have equal access to information and opportunities for engagement. This is a 100% remote role. A technology test will be administered to begin the interview process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate interpretation of spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL), and vice versa, during live virtual classroom sessions.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, students, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and support educational objectives.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity to the diverse needs of students and staff members.
• Adapt interpretation strategies to accommodate varying communication styles and preferences.
• Stay informed about relevant educational content and terminology to facilitate accurate interpretation.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English, with demonstrated proficiency in educational terminology.
• Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in educational settings preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with students and colleagues.
• Familiarity with remote learning platforms and technology tools for virtual communication.
• EIPA EIPA written required
RID or NIC is a bonus
